\"BABIES4\"<\/a>During the storm the<\/span> power g<\/span>oes out so I sit in the old rocking chair and sing in the dark. I hold the dog and my flashlight. And as the small light bounces off the ceiling and walls, I remember other storms and <\/span>power failures long ago when I gathered my young children close and gave them flashlights, \u201cSo you can always have light when you need it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhoa! That one was REALLY loud,\u201d we\u2019d agreed of the thunder.
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cThat was a BIG one.\u201d
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cYeah.\u201d
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cShould we<\/span> turn off our flashlights and make<\/span> it REALLY dark for a moment?\u201d I\u2019d challenged.
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cYeah.\u201d
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cNo.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It was just a tiny bit of control in the blackest night as it poured and thundered and shot \"SUKILIGHT\"<\/a>white stabs of lightning all around outside. We were not completely stuck. We still had choices, even in the dark.<\/span><\/p>\n

Suddenly the lights flicker and the el<\/span>ectricity come<\/span>s back on. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLook Suki. Power\u2019s back,\u201d I say to the dog, still rocking as all around us appliances beep to reset.<\/span><\/p>\n

The phone rings. I drop Suki and run to answer it, annoyed to be leaving my memories so abruptly but eager to converse with a friend.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHello, is the lady of the house there?\u201d I hesitate, stunned.<\/span><\/p>\n
