As the sun bowed down to the longest night of the year, the Snow Queen challenged her guests to set intentions for the beginning of winter. Mine was to play more. To party. To dance. To carry on with wild abandon like my daughter did, the daughter who died.
The Snow Queen pretended to throw snowballs at me. Just to get me started.
What are your intentions for this season?

I love this photo. My major wish is Peace and a new person in the White House. I want to worry less, trust more, and enjoy training my pup. I want to spend less time pushing against my hearing limits and accept what is. I want to visit my son in NC in late March or early April for an early spring (and it looks like that will happen with both dogs and a ride from my son’s friend in Rochester who has a grandchild in NC and drives there about every other month). So now it’s time for a canine/human wood’s walk before the weather turns nasty. Blessed and Joyful New Year’s for you.
A blessed and joyful New Year for you too. I agree with you on everything, Elaine. Especially more peaceful time spent with dogs on walks in the woods. I believe that’s one of the things that saves me. I can give up a lot of stuff. But walking with my dog on our beautiful trails is what keeps me sane and in peace. Somehow, all the worries of the world, the greater world and my own little corner of it, disappear when I’m in the woods hiking with Suki.
