Feeling Blessed

Feeling BlessedWhat I learned last week is that if I show up and listen to someone else’s story, and do something to help out—then my walk in the woods, the laundry, my photo-of-the-week and writing will probably not get done. But if I don’t allow myself to stress out over what I didn’t get accomplished, I can end up feeling magnificently productive and blessed anyway.

What did you do last week that got in the way of everything else you intended to do?

My sister called me around 9 a.m. and said she was feeling sick and had fallen down and couldn’t get up. I said I’d be right over (we live 10 minutes apart). So now 3 days later I’m taking a breather and wondering how to get into “accomplishing” mode again. Hard when this project is not really over, as she will require surgery for a broken collarbone!

I got pretty stressed at one point, but I’m glad you’re not!

I hope your sister is doing okay now, Lynne. So great to have her nearby. I know what you mean by having to regroup your mode after care-giving. I went to visit a friend with cancer last week and I’m still recuperating myself. Can’t do much of anything else but worry about her. Accomplishing? Maybe you noticed my blogs are getting shorter and shorter. It’s hard to think of anything or anyone else right now. Thanks for being out there, Lynne. I love your notes.
